Christianity is on the decline among the next generation; many youth who claim to be Christians don't understand the basic fundamentals of their faith. The primary objective of DM2's youth ministry is to help the next generation own their faith and train them to become fully equipped disciple makers who will be the future leaders in the church of Jesus Christ. Some of the methods we use include youth Bible workshops, small group Bible studies, and online Bible classes. The following are some ways DM2's youth ministry is unique:

1) DM2 youth workshops are taught by youth to youth. Youth are trained to present the materials to their peers who are then challenged and empowered to do the same.

2) The DM2 youth ministry utilizes the same high-level curriculum used to teach Christian leaders around the world.
​
3) The focus of all DM2 events, including youth events, is on studying the Word of God verse by verse. DM2 operates under the belief that the Word of God is for everyone. Because of this belief, DM2's youth ministry strives to focus on the Word of God rather than on entertainment.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the summer youth workshops have been cancelled.
However , in spite of the restrictions caused by the crisis, DM2 has some
good news to share about some upcoming youth events:
Good News #1: Gospel of John Study
Despite the conference cancellation, we will still be offering the Gospel of John study and it will be occurring sooner, rather than later. This study will be virtual (over Zoom conference call). Since many of you are stuck at home, it's a great time to join us on Zoom as we study the Gospel of John, April 6th through 10th. If you are interested in taking part in this online study, email codyharrisonhughes@gmail.com so he can add you to the list. There is no charge to participate and it is open to all. Good News #2: Winter Youth Conference on 1st Timothy
We are already busy making plans for a winter youth conference the week after Christmas. We are calling this a DM2 Reunion because after so many months of being apart, we are hoping ALL DM2 friends from across the nation will join us. Tentative dates of Dec. 29 through Jan. 3rd (including New Year's Eve party). No need to sign up for this yet, but start planning, saving, and marking your calendars now so you can usher in the New Year with us, God willing.

Good News #3: Self-paced online Romans Study
DM2 is vamping up online opportunities for youth this summer. One of these opportunities will be a self-paced on-line course on Romans Chapters 1-8. This class will consist of modules that can be accessed at your own speed through-out the summer. Each module will include a pre-recorded teaching session presented by a DM2 youth teacher followed by review questions to be answered online. Once you have completed all the modules you will have the opportunity to receive a certificate of completion. Romans 1-8 is foundational to the Christian faith, so if you haven't gone through it yet or you want a refresher course, this summer is a great time to do it. Stay tuned for the launch date, which will be announced in the near future.

Good News #4: Online Group Bible Studies
For those who want a more interactive approach, we have live online group Bible studies going on at various times and days of the week via the Zoom format. Please email codyharrisonhughes@gmail.com if you would like to join one of these groups. He can hook you up with the group that works best for you depending on your schedule and desired area of study.
So as you can see, the COVID 19 has re-arranged our plans, but it hasn't slowed us down. We are reminded of Proverbs 16:9: "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps." With this in mind we move forward, trusting Him with all our future plans.
